Through some research I found another secure linux distro that looks great, like tails, but with more usability.

I'll be installing it and testing it out, for more info first link is a good read. second link is official download

update, it's privacy to the max, I like it, biggest downside is when you go from isp > vpn > tor (minus the 14 eyes) > dnsleak or tordns it gets a little slow, but still manage able. I'm going to slowly switch to it as my daily driver.

I installed it on an external hardrive, to test the speed, but I think I'll install it on a partition on the ssd connected to my board for the fastest speeds.

it had no trouble installing grub, on the machine I had there was no grub yet, but there might be issues if you already have grub installed.

I still recommend giving it a try, it has everything. and definitely recommend this to stay anonymous in much more strict countries.

I want to share something I read from the first link i posted in op.

After Tor has been used for the weirdest and most heinous crimes by some, some countries stepped up and created associations, of a somewhat successful system to track down and collect data more accurately to find people. They use intersection of antennas and networks to circle around and round down locations. This principle has been picked up by two more associations.

They turn out to be three associations, one that has 5 countries, one that has 9 and one with 14.

Contrary to popular belief, the five, nine and fourteen eyes countries aren’t separate entities and are not working distinctly from each other. The difference is in the datalink and scope of analysis not the co-operations. There are other umbrellas that come by, such as European Union for example, authorities cooperate together and engineers know how to hand data. The key is to switch accordingly and split your work between them in a way that data analysis wouldn’t make sense.

If you aren’t torifying the entire system, but still want to run scans using nmap for example. You can use the Torified Shell from the dashboard, all your commands will be wrapped inside Tor.

DnsCrypt


According to dnscrypt.org, “DNSCrypt is a protocol that authenticates communications between a DNS client and a DNS resolver. It prevents DNS spoofing. It uses cryptographic signatures to verify that responses originate from the chosen DNS resolver and haven't been tampered with. It is an open specification, with free and open source reference implementations, and it is not affiliated with any company nor organization.”

A lot claim that the ISP can see what sites one is visiting, the internet searches and more. Even if they’re using https and, allegedly that is done via DNS lookups on port 53.

The aforementioned is not true for Linux Kodachi, as it runs DnsCrypt and TorCrypt with each connection.

“Your provider won't see anything if you are using VPN because your traffic is encrypted, they might see your dns requests, unless you use DNScrypt which is part of Kodachi” Warith Al Maawali

Get a pen drive, install rufus or ventoy, download a Linux distribution ISO image, and flash the image to the usb.
Linux mint, ubuntu, kali, these are all beginner friendly. I would advise Linux mint with the cinnamon desktop environment, as a start.

Now restart, go into your bios, with pushing delete or f12 or whatever, go to the boot settings and make the usb as a first priority. Exit and save. It will boot you in the live IOS, you go trought the installation process, and that's it. unplug the usb and restart. Change back the boot priority in the BIOS. watch a video on it.

Watch videos on how linux works.
As a start help, it is debian based, so debain packages will work. There is many ways to install things, the best way to go is to type in youtube : .... install on linux.

As a long go, I would use this:

But that is not that beginner friendly. DWM and usually window managers without a desktop environment usually is for someone who mants to over customize their setup. What I linked here is already customized.

Very easy and straightforward with default settings, and information regarding the installation process is abundant and easily found by searching.

Linux is the savior of old laptops, as it is a much smaller and less complex operation system.

Damn 2k for a laptop would be overkill for work. Anyways, just saying the there are only alternatives to Microsoft apps.
excel, word, etc, these aren't on linux. But there are alternatives and they work fine.

Anyways if you find that linux would not suite your workflow (which would be rare, but watch videos on this) than you can factory reset your laptop, which would re-install windows and erase everything.

Damn 2k for a laptop would be overkill for work.

2k is normal price for a business laptop, and nothing uncommon in the office. Especially for those with even more expensive devices who need more computational power and better features for specific tasks.
